AB 413 Daylighting Law

California’s new Daylighting Law now requires that no park zones be established at marked or unmarked street crossings. For more information on Assembly Bill 413, visit the California Legislature website.

What is Daylighting?

Daylighting is a safety improvement that restricts parking next to crosswalks.

The purpose of the Daylighting law is to allow pedestrians crossing the street a clear line of sight to oncoming traffic. Daylighting also allows drivers of vehicles to view pedestrians entering crosswalks so they can yield to the individuals wanting to cross the street.
