Message from Chief of Police Kirk Stratton

Posted on March 20, 2020

The Town of Colma and the Colma Police Department are actively monitoring developments related to Covid-19. We at the police department have taken necessary safety precautions to ensure our own safety so that we can safely serve our community. We sanitize our station daily and use social distancing and other safety precautions. Our patrol staffing level has not changed, and we have extra officers on standby if needed. We have collaborated with our law enforcement partners from the Broadmoor Police Department and other County agencies for additional staffing in the event of an internal infection. Our 911 Dispatch Center is fully operational with staff on duty to serve you. If you have non-medical questions related to Covid-19, please call 211. We have restricted access to our police department and public lobby. Non-emergency reports will be conducted by telephone and no fingerprinting/live scanning will be considered. Only official business deemed essential will be conducted at the police department. Officers are responding to emergency calls for service involving in-progress crimes, immediate protection of life or medical emergencies. Officers continue to be highly visible in our business and residential communities. Street sweeping will remain an essential function for sanitary reasons with no enforcement (no ticketing) by the police department. The men and women of the Colma Police Department are here for you and remain committed to serving our community.
