San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District Board of Trustee

Posted on October 27, 2017

The Town of Colma is seeking a resident to represent the Town on the Board of Trustees for the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District.

As a member of the district’s Board of Trustees, you would act as a liaison to the town and would assist the district in making decisions that impact public health.  You would provide the town council with regular reports about the District and its activities.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, you can be appointed to a two year or four year term, which will begin in January 2018. Board meetings are once a month and meet on the second Wednesday each month. The Board does not meet in August. The meetings are held at the District office 1351 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA. from 6:00 pm to approximately 8:00pm.

You must be a resident of and currently registered voter in Colma. You must be at least 21 years old. You do not need any experience in biology or any other health-related sciences to be a valuable member. Trustees bring a variety of skill to the Board.  There are Board members with experience in finance, local government, business and other fields.  We do ask that you be interested in learning what the district does and sharing that information with your town. It is recommended that Trustees be capable of communicating via email and able to review documents transmitted by email.

If you would like to serve on the district’s Board of Trustees, please see the announcement or contact Brian Dossey, Administrative Services Director at (650) 985-5690 or bdossey@colma.ca.gov for additional information or an application.  Applications may also be filled out online, and are due by November 17, 2017.
