Colma Officers Arrest Suspect for Identity Theft and Fraud
Colma, CA – On 02/10/2021, Colma Police Officers responded to the report of an identity theft that occurred previously on the 900 block of Serramonte Boulevard. The victim reported that an unknown subject opened a line of credit in their name. Further investigation led to the identification of the suspect and on 2/11/2021, he was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail. Further investigation lead to the discovery of additional evidence related to identity theft and fraud.
On 3/30/2021, Colma Police Officers, with the assistance of Berkeley Police Department, Oakland Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, assisted with serving two search warrants, one on the 1300 block of Channing Way in Berkeley and the second on the 2300 block of Linden Street in Oakland. No additional arrests were made during the execution of the search warrants.
This investigation is still ongoing.
