Crimes Investigated

Vehicle Burglary

During the month of November, there were no reports of vehicles being burglarized.

Thefts

During the month of November, the Colma Police Department received thirty-five (35) reports of theft related crimes and made fifteen (15) arrests ranging from petty theft, grand theft, shoplifting and burglary.

Stolen Vehicle

During the month of November three (3) vehicles were reported stolen and two (2) stolen vehicles were recovered.

Alcohol/Drugs

During the month of November, patrol officers made a total of twenty-one (21) arrests for drug and alcohol related charges, which included two (2) arrests for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

Commercial Burglaries/Stolen Vehicle

Between 11/15/18 and 11/17/18 two commercial burglaries took place committed by the same suspect, the first at the 280 Metro Mall the second on the 1500 block of Collins Avenue.  An Apple I-Phone was stolen from the business at the Metro Mall, and a safe, Apple computer, multiple California sale’s license cards, numerous vehicle keys, and documents were stolen from the Collins Avenue business.  The suspect was later located in a stolen vehicle by SFPD with the above-mentioned stolen property in his possession.  The vehicle was found to also have been stolen from Collins Avenue.  The suspect was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County jail on multiple criminal charges.

Grand Theft

On 11/23/18 at approximately 0337 hours, three (3) suspects stole approximately 40 Christmas trees from the tree lot located on the 100 block of Colma Boulevard.  The suspects were interrupted during the theft and fled the area in a yellow colored, Penske 20-foot box truck.  Further investigation revealed that the Penske truck was stolen out of Oakland and returned to the Oakland area after the theft of the Christmas trees.  Detectives are actively investigating this case.

Felon in Possession of Firearm/Theft

On 11/29/18 at approximately 1921 hours, two males were contacted during a traffic enforcement stop on the 100 block of Colma Blvd.  During the interaction with the subjects, Officers noticed new power tools still in the box with the “spider wrap” security sensor attached in the back seat of the vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that the tools had just been stolen from the 100 block of Colma Boulevard.  During a search of the vehicle a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun was located in the center console.  Officers also located heroin, methamphetamines and cocaine in the possession of the driver who was arrested and booked into County jail on multiple criminal charges.

Officer Guerrero participated in one San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) detail.
