Crimes Investigated
The Colma Police Department (CPD) had an increase in overall police activity during September 2025, reflecting the departments ongoing dedication to proactive policing and community safety. Throughout the month, CPD officers responded to 424 calls for service and generated 96 police reports. These efforts led to 47 arrests, including 41 misdemeanors and 6 felonies, as part of the departments continued focus on maintaining public safety and addressing crime within the community. In addition to enforcement activity, officers issued 452 citations covering a range of criminal, traffic, and the majority being parking violations. As part of its ongoing traffic safety initiatives, CPD also conducted 247 traffic enforcement stops, emphasizing the department’s commitment to encouraging responsible driving behaviors and reducing roadway hazards. In the first three weeks of October, CPD has maintained this momentum, generating 87 police reports, making 48 arrests, issuing 143 citations, conducting 127 traffic stops and 2,113 officer initiated incidents.
On September 28, 2025, an armed robbery occurred at a business located in the 1700 block of Hillside Boulevard. Upon arrival, CPD Officers learned that the robbery had occurred 10 minutes prior to CPD receiving the report. Officers determined that three unidentified suspects entered the business parking lot and committed an armed robbery using firearms. The suspects stole victims’ phones, wallets, and money before fleeing the scene. The suspects were described as three Black males wearing dark clothing and full face masks. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as CPD works to identify and locate the individuals responsible.
From October 1 through October 8, 2025, CPD demonstrated its ongoing commitment to community safety through a combination of proactive enforcement and responsive service. CPD officers responded to 112 calls for service and conducted 940 proactive self initiated incidents, underscoring the department’s dedication to protecting residents, visitors, and local businesses. As a result of these efforts, officers generated 30 case reports addressing a range of public safety concerns.
On October 3, 2025, CPD officers were conducting routine patrol when they observed a gray Hyundai driving recklessly, with passengers hanging out of the vehicle’s windows near the intersection of El Camino Real and Colma Boulevard. CPD officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officers initiated a short pursuit, which ended when the vehicle yielded at the intersection of El Camino Real and Hickey Boulevard in South San Francisco. The driver and two female passengers were detained without incident. During the investigation, a nearby witness alerted officers to a firearm lying on the ground in the area where the vehicle had fled. CPD officers reviewed surveillance footage from a nearby business, which showed a firearm with a high-capacity magazine being thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit. The driver, identified as Devonte Davenport, a 30-year-old resident of Vallejo, was arrested for the following offenses: Felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of an unregistered firearm and evading police with disregard for public safety. Davenport was transported to and booked into county jail.

Between October 9 and October 15, 2025, the CPD responded to 73 calls for service, demonstrating the department’s ongoing commitment to public safety and support for the local business community. During this period, officers handled conducted 756 officer-initiated incidents. Notable incidents included carrying loaded firearms, narcotics-related offenses, vandalism, mutual aid requests, theft involving repeat offenders, and battery.
On October 10, 2025, CPD officers were conducting routine patrols when they observed a white Pontiac committing multiple traffic violations and driving recklessly in the area of Mission Street and East Market Street. Officers initiated a traffic enforcement stop, and the vehicle yielded at Guadalupe Canyon Parkway and Carter Street in Daly City. The driver, 22-year-old Janol Wesley of San Francisco, was taken into custody without incident for reckless driving. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located a concealed and loaded firearm in the front passenger seat. The weapon contained five rounds of ammunition and was not being transported in compliance with state law. The passenger, identified as 21-year-old Amier Jones of San Francisco, was determined to be the registered owner of the firearm. Jones was arrested without incident and transported to county jail, where he was booked for carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle. Wesley was also transported to county jail and booked for reckless driving.

Between October 16 and October 23, 2025, CPD responded to a total of 110 calls for service. During this period, officers conducted 59 traffic stops, resulting in 34 traffic citations and 17 arrests. CPD officers also generated 38 reports addressing a range of incidents, including possession of narcotics, petty theft, domestic battery, possession of a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, and grand theft. The department remains committed to proactive policing efforts and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
