City Manager’s Update
Daniel Barros, City Manager
May and June are always busy months for Town staff as we are putting the finishing touches on next year’s budget for the City Council’s consideration. The Town is preparing a full-service budget in Fiscal Year 2025-2026. Once again, Town revenues will exceed general fund operations. If you have any questions regarding the budget, please join us at the City Council meeting on June 11th at 7pm in the City Council Chamber.
Please join the Town on June 11th at 9:30 a.m. at the Colma Community Center as we celebrate Philippine Independence at our flag raising ceremony. At the flag raising event we will be joined by the Philippine Consul General of San Francisco, Honorable Neil Frank R. Ferrer. The Honorable Neil Frank R. Ferrer is the Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in San Francisco, which has consular jurisdiction over Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington State, and Wyoming. Light refreshments will be served, and we hope to see you there.
In addition to the Philippine Flag raising, The Town will also have a second commemorative flag raising ceremony this month on June 25th to raise the LGBTQ Pride Flag. Light refreshments will also be served at this event also, and we hope to see you there as well!
Big upgrades are in store for Colma residents as Comcast has upgraded the Town’s Cable TV package to the X1 Ultimate TV bundle. This upgrade, free of charge, marks the return of popular channels that went away earlier this year, like NBC Sportsnet Bay Area. If you still do not have access to this channel, you may be in need of a new cable box. Boxes can be swapped for free at the Xfinity Store located at the Serramonte Shopping Center. The Town will also be hosting a “swap” at Town Hall on Wednesday June 4th from 2PM-6PM and Thursday June 5th from 10AM-2PM.
Recreation Services Department Update

Every year, the Town of Colma recognizes Honor Roll Students in the Fall. As the 2024–2025 school year comes to a close, we want to celebrate your child’s hard work and dedication to their education. If your child achieved Honor Roll status at any point during the 2024–2025 school year and would like to participate in the recognition ceremony, please email us at recreation@colma.ca.gov.
