Crimes Investigated

This month we have completed this report early due to the holiday.  All statistics reported are from 11/1/21 through 11/18/21.  So far, the month of November has been busy for the officers with the Town of Colma Police Department.  We have taken 55 reports and 21 arrests.  We have issued 99 citations and conducted 108 traffic stops.

We started off our month with multiple theft related calls at our retail businesses throughout town and arrested two people for possession of narcotics and outstanding warrants in one of our retail shopping centers. The Town of Colma Community Service Officer’s also towed multiple cars for various violations throughout town.

On 11-4-21, at approximately 3:30 am, South San Francisco Police Officers responded to a stolen vehicle in their city and provided the Colma Police Department with a Be On the Lookout message.  Utilizing the Town of Colma license plate reading cameras Colma officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle passing the camera. Officers responded to the location in an attempt to locate it.  Colma Officers located a suspicious vehicle, that at the time, was unknown to be associated to the stolen vehicle. An investigation into the suspicious vehicle, and its occupants, revealed that the occupants were suspects in an array of crimes in multiple jurisdictions.

With the assistance of the South San Francisco Police Department, Daly City Police Department, Broadmoor Police Department, and the San Francisco Police Department Colma Officers were able to organize and file a complex muti-jurisdictional case with our district attorney’s office.  These charges included a robbery and car jacking via knife point in San Francisco, a vehicle pursuit of the stolen car by a Broadmoor Police Officer, and the recovery of a Firearm in the possession of a felon by the Colma Police Department.  All Officer’s involved should be recognized for their dedication to keeping these violent criminals off our streets and the recovery of the stolen vehicle and firearm

On 11-8-21, there were three arrests for thefts from three different retail stores.  The first arrest at 3:00 pm was for grant theft.  The individual was also in possession of multiple victims’ personal information, including drivers’ licenses, debit cards, and social security cards.  The suspect was booked into county jail.

At 4:00 pm, Colma Officers arrested another subject for grant theft out of another one of our retail businesses.  This individual was also in possession of another’s credit card, and counterfeit money.  The individual was booked into county jail on theft and drug related offenses.

At 6:30 pm, Colma Officers arrested another subject for petty theft and misdemeanor drug possession charges. This individual was cited for the multiple misdemeanor offenses and booked into jail on an outstanding felony warrant for their arrest.

On 11-9-21, a $80,000 vehicle was stolen from one of our car dealerships.  The vehicle was later recovered in Oakland on 11-17-21, striped of its major parts.  This investigation is still on going.

On 11-11-21, Colma Officers used their personal funds to purchase and package appreciation bags for our veterans living in the Mercy Housing complex.  Officers delivered the bags which contained custom USA Flag Cookies and various food items.

On 11-17-21, while assigned to the San Mateo County Gang Task Force, Colma Detectives located a vehicle occupied by a retail theft suspect from one of our burglary cases.  The driver was part of a large, organized retail theft organization responsible for the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth work of personal care products.  Three individuals were detained inside of the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle discovered a loaded unregistered firearm.  All occupants were felons and in possession of narcotics.  They were booked into jail on multiple firearm and drug related offenses.  The probation and parole officers for the individuals were contacted and advised of the additional crimes.
