The Colma City Council is pleased to announce the selection of Brian Dossey as City Manager. Mr. Dossey was appointed City Manager during the November 22, 2017 Council meeting by unanimous vote. Mr. Dossey has served the Town of Colma for the past fourteen years, and his first day as the new City Manager will be December 18, 2017.

“We are extremely excited for Brian, for he has worked hard over the past fourteen years and is responsible for many successful initiatives and programs,” Mayor Helen Fisicaro said. “His experience working in the community and his dedication to Colma is what made the difference for the Council. We are looking forward to working with him in his new capacity, building a bright future for Colma.”

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Dossey served as the Administrative Services Director, where he oversaw Recreation Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Risk Management. He also served as the American with Disability Act Coordinator, Safety Committee Chair and managed the Town’s Insurance programs. In 2003, he was originally appointed as the Director of Recreation Services, developing a very successful Recreation department. During that time, Mr. Dossey established relationships with many members of the residential and business community. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Mary’s College.

“I’m very excited to take on my new role in Colma, and am grateful for the City Council’s confidence in my ability to serve as City Manager,” Dossey said. “I’m inheriting a very well-run organization with a great City Council and a wonderful staff. This is such a special community, and I consider it an honor to be selected to serve as its next City Manager. I look forward to continue working with the Town’s residents and business, and supporting the City Council in achieving its vision for the future.”

Dossey replaces Interim City Manager William Norton, who said Dossey has the right perspective, skills and experience to do a great job for the Town.
