REGISTER FOR SUMMER DAY CAMP 2025!

The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is excited to offer Summer Day Camp! We will be offering nine, week long sessions from June 9 to August 8, 2025. Along with five Adventure Field Trips! Each camp day generally runs from 10am-4pm. Extended care hours are offered before and after camp.

Youth ages 5 to 12 years old are invited to explore a wide range of activities. Children will enjoy art & crafts, outdoor games, indoor games, music, cooking projects, movies, and so much more. A session schedule will be given out on the first day of camp.

Each camper should bring  a sweatshirt, refillable water bottle, and wear closed-toed shoes. Please be sure all personal items are clearly labeled with the camper’s name. On-site, we have trained and dedicated staff leading developmentally oriented games and activities that participants will enjoy among their peers and favorite Recreation Leaders. General Care (10am – 4pm)

Campers will experience games, arts and crafts, cooking projects, science experiments and so much more! Campers will have lunch and snack during General Care. Drop off and pick up is allowed at any time during General Care with the exception of Field Trips. However, we appreciate an advance notice if your child will be arriving late or leaving early. If your child will be missing General Care for the day, please call us ahead of time to let us know.

Adventure Camp Trips (8am – 6pm)

Join us as we adventure across the Bay Area! Adventure Camp Trips are not included in the session fee. Each Adventure Camp Trip has its own fees. Timely drop-offs are encouraged, please look out for your camp email to see the latest drop-off time for your Adventure Camp Trip. Campers may arrive later than scheduled from Adventure Camp Trips.

Daily Drop-in Rate (10am – 4pm)

Daily Rates are available for campers who are looking for one day of fun or need last minute care. Daily rates are only available on a drop-in basis, as long as there are open spaces available. Please call and confirm with us before attempting to drop-in. Extended Care is not included in the Daily Drop-in Rate. There are no drop-ins for Adventure Camp Trips.

Extended Care

Extended Care is meant for those campers who are looking for a little more fun! Early Morning Care consists of quiet board games and coloring time with occasional movies and breakfast snacks. Afternoon Care includes extra time outside playing on the play structure or with Camp equipment. Early drop off or late pick up is subject to the full extended care fee.

Week 1: June 9-13 (Welcome Week)

Campers will enjoy a Welcome Day celebration and receive a visit from Mad Science. Plus, some crafts inspired by our friend Charlie Brown! Then we will enter the world of How to Train Your Dragon at Century Theatres in Daly City.

Week 2: June 16-20, NO CAMP June 19 (Once Upon a Camp)

Our shortest week is packed with extra fun as we jump into storybooks and bring fairytales to life! From mermaids and dragons to Humpty Dumpty himself, no tale will be left untold. Then, we’ll kick off our first Adventure Trip with a visit to the Legoland Discovery Center in Milpitas, CA! Please note: No camp on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.

Week 3: June 23-27 (Camp Rock)

Unleash your inner rock star during our all-new Camp Rock week! Campers will dive into music lessons, enjoy a performance from a local band, and showcase their talents during our Final Jam. Featuring a trip to Classic Bowl and an Adventure Trip to Stagecoach Greens in San Francisco, CA.

Week 4: June 30-July 3, NO CAMP July 4 (Happy Holidays)

Celebrate the magic of the holidays—summer style! Join us for a spooktacular Halloween Parade, a festive 4th of July Carnival, and much more. Please note: No camp on July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

Week 5: July 7-11 (Under the Sea)

Dive into fun during our Under the Sea week! We’ll explore the wonders of the Ocean with sea creature crafts and a beach day. Get creative with Cookies & Canvas as we paint ocean-inspired masterpieces, and wrap up the week with an epic Water Game spectacular. Plus, don’t miss our exciting Adventure Trip to Aqua Adventure in Fremont, CA!

Week 6: July 14-18 (Back to the Future)

Hop in the time machine—we’re going Back to the Future! Travel through the 50s to the 90s with a retro Drive-In Movie, a trip to Dave & Buster’s, and groovy crafts and snacks. This week is going to be totally rad!

Week 7: July 21-25 (Around the World)

We’re travelling around the world this week! We’ll go to Color Me Mine and do crafts from different countries. Campers will train as soccer stars all week for our World Cup Tournament. Then join us on Friday for our annual Family Potluck!

Week 8: July 28-August 1 (Wilderness Explorers)

Adventure is out there! Become a Wilderness Explorer as we’re joined by Wild Mind and create crafts inspired by Mother Earth. Then, we’ll journey to Century Theatres in Daly City to watch Bad Guys 2. Don’t miss our exciting Adventure Trip to Great America in Santa Clara, CA!

Week 9: August 4-8 (Up Up & Away)

Our last week of camp is going to be SUPER! Embrace the hero – or villain – within with epic crafts and activities. We’ll meet our Hometown Heroes at Colma PD, the Colma Fire District, and Public Works for a behind-the-scenes look at their incredible work! Then, we’ll celebrate with an awesome Goodbye Party! Join us for an Adventure Trip to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, CA!

Camp Activities (White)
Camp Activities are run by our Rec Leaders and/or Leaders in Training, on site at Sterling Park. Camp activities include art, science, snack, and game projects.

Project Read (Green)
Join us as we’re visited weekly by our friends at Project Read! Project Read rotates by week between Nutrition lessons, Science lessons, and the Learning Wheels bus.

Presenter Days (Orange):
Campers will enjoy a visit from a variety of presenters at Sterling Park! Presenters typically visit us in the second half of the day.

Local Field Trips (Purple)
Campers will travel by bus, Bart or foot and experience exciting local destinations for a day packed with fun! Campers are encouraged to arrive on time at 10am on field trip days. They are typically back from their trip by 4pm at the latest. Disposable paper bag lunches are required on field trip days.

Adventure Field Trips (Blue)
Campers will hop on a bus and explore the greater Bay Area! Adventure field trip arrival and return times vary, please double check flyers for the correct information. Adventure field trips are not included in the Summer Camp Fee. Early Morning and Afternoon Care fees are included for Adventure field trips. Disposable paper bag lunches are required on field trip days.

Onsite Events (Pink)
Campers will enjoy a day packed of fun lead by our Camp staff! Onsite events typically take up a full or half day. Onsite events coincide with our weekly themes, dressing up is encouraged!

Creating a safe and respectful environment for all campers and staff is our top priority. For more information, please review our Camp Rules and Disciplinary Policy.

Additional Information

Parents of all enrolled participants will receive an email with additional information 2 – 4 days before your camp week starts! All pertinent information will also be available on our sign-in table.

Leaders in Training

The Leaders in Training (LIT) Program provides teens ages 13 – 17 with work and leadership experience while they enjoy a Summer of fun! Program dates will be June 9-Aug. 8, to align with camp. LITs are required to commit to working at least 3 days per week and 5 out of 9 weeks. LIT shifts are typically from 10am-3pm, times vary for field trip shifts. If an LIT, is unable to meet the commitments, they may be released from the program early. A one-time $50 fee will be collected from all LITs once accepted into the program.

The application for summer 2025 is open! Apply here by Friday, May 15. If selected, LITs will be required to attend the LIT Orientation on Thursday, May 29.

Camp Staff

Join our Rec Leader team! We are currently hiring seasonal Recreation Leaders ages 15+. All staff hired will be required to attend our summer training week from June 2 to June 7.

Summer Day Camp Activity Calendars

* Updated Cancellation and Refund Policy

Any cancellation of a program registration will result in a total or partial loss of program registration fee. If cancellation of program registration is made at least fourteen (14) days in advance of program start date, a full refund will be issued. If program registration is cancelled less than fourteen (14) days of program start date, a credit on account will be issued. No refund will be given. Medical emergencies or illnesses are exempt from this policy. However, a medical certification from your doctor will be required. Requests for program cancellation must be submitted in writing. Any no shows or cancellations once program has started, no refund or credit will be given unless written medical certification is shown.
Certain programs may have specific refund policies (such as Ticket Sales, Field Trips, senior programs and ect.) This will be clearly stated on registration sheets for those programs.
