Colma Climate Action Plan Update 2030

Colma continues to actively implement greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reduction programs since the 2013 Climate Action Plan was approved by City Council in May 2013.

Staff implements the Climate Action Plan programs and helps residents and businesses with:

  • Increasing energy efficiency
  • Conserving water
  • Reducing waste to landfill through recycling, organics collection, reuse and source reduction
  • Using transportation such as bicycle, public transit, walking or carpooling instead of driving solo
  • Using recycled products and compost

Colma has had great success and exceeded the AB 32 GHG reduction target. Colma residents and businesses benefit from reduced carbon pollution, energy and water cost savings and being part of the solution to climate change.

Staff is currently updating the Climate Action Plan to create new programs to reduce the Town’s GHG emissions by 49% of Colma’s 2005 base year emissions. Staff will be reaching out with renewed efforts to our residents and businesses to assist with energy and water conservation programs and rebates, free technical assistance, Green Business Certification resources and more. The draft 2030 Climate Action Plan is available below. For more information please contact kgallagher@colma.ca.gov
